Chronology of cameras Finetta-Werk

Traduction de Pierre Yves Petit.

Although the name sounds Italian, this Finetta is a simple, albeit strange, German camera.

The shutter has speeds of 1/25, 1/50 and 1/100th, and the lens is a f4/43mm Finetar. The lens is “interchangeable”: it is screwed to the body.

Even though the shape is uncommon, the real peculiarity of this camera is inside. First of all, the guillotine shutter is more symptomatic of 1930s camera. But the least one can say is when opening the camera is that it doesn’t resemble any other 35mm camera…

This appealing camera has a personality.

It sold for about $30 in the USA when it was launched.
